Marketing Manager (Part-Time)

Our clients are a specialist renewable energy consultancy advising lenders, developers, and investors across Africa, growing clean energy pipeline, wind, solar, BESS, and beyond. Their work is technically rigorous and commercially grounded, and our brand should reflect that.

Their marketing function is currently a blank page. They need someone who can own it.‍

The role

This is a part-time position (3 days per week) for a mid-level marketing professional ready to build and run the marketing function for a specialist B2B consultancy. You won’t be managing a team or a large budget, but you will have real autonomy, clear objectives, and the opportunity to shape how a credible, growing firm positions itself in the market.

What you’ll own

  • Brand strategy and positioning: articulating what makes us different and ensuring that comes through consistently

  • Content and thought leadership: translating complex technical work into compelling material for lenders, developers, and DFIs

  • LinkedIn and digital presence: organic and paid campaigns targeting a highly specific professional audience

  • Proposals and credentials: working alongside technical staff to sharpen how we present ourselves in bids

  • Marketing planning: an annual plan with clear priorities, budgets, and measurable outcomes

  • Agency and supplier management: briefing and overseeing freelancers or specialists where needed

You’re a fit if you:

  • Have  3-6 years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in professional services, energy, infrastructure, or financial services

  • Understand how to market to a sophisticated, technical audience, lenders, project finance teams, IPPs, and DFIs are not a consumer market

  • Can write clearly and credibly about complex subjects, or know how to extract the story from people who can

  • Are comfortable being the only marketer in the room and working without a playbook

  • Have run campaigns end-to-end: strategy, content, execution, reporting

  • Are organised, self-directed, and take ownership rather than waiting to be briefed

What this is not

  • A social media management role. We need strategy and brand thinking, not just content scheduling

  • A role with a large team or significant budget to hide behind

  • A fit for someone who needs a structured corporate environment to thrive
